I once knew a beautiful damsel, waiting in distress
For a knight in shining armor, and she deserved no less
I suppose she thought the armor would protect his heart from lust
I believe all she really wanted was someone she could trust
But when she thought she had found him, his armor was covered in rust
His heart was not pure, as she needed. It was attacked by the demon lust.
She immediately began to pray for the Lord's grace
She knew the evil demon would run if he saw His face
She let Lord into her life, and was washed clean of her disgrace
She thought somehow that the same would hold true in her knight's case

Since he already believed the lie that he needed more than his damsel's pure love
It was easy for the demon pride to convince him he didn't need help from above
All of these demons work well together, it is their victim that they push and shove
The only thing that the seven demons have to fear, is the power of the Dove

Of course, I am not a prophet, I cannot tell you how this story will end
Whether the knight will let The Holy Spirit in that the Father will send
All I know is, that the knight, is helpless without It, no matter how hard he does defend
As for me, I will not forget the lesson I learned here, on that you can depend
